Speed and Agility: A Breakdown

Speed refers to the ability to move quickly over a distance. It involves rapid muscle contractions, efficient stride mechanics, and explosive power to cover ground in the shortest possible time.

Agility is the ability to change direction quickly and efficiently while maintaining control and balance. It combines speed, coordination, and quick reflexes to react and adapt to dynamic situations.

Key Components

Speed
  Acceleration: Getting up to top speed quickly.
  Top-End Speed: Maintaining maximum velocity.
  Stride Length & Frequency: How far and how often your steps are.

Agility
  Change of Direction: Moving swiftly from one position to another.
  Reaction Time: Responding quickly to stimuli.
  Balance & Control: Staying stable during rapid movements.
